Epoxy Resin

Description

Epoxy resin is highly versatile offers wide range of properties and applications. The characteristic three-membered cyclic ether rings, are responsible for the unique properties of epoxy resins. These rings readily react with other molecules, enabling curing and customization.

Epoxy resins are widely used in floor coatings, chemical-resistant coatings, anticorrosive coatings, and tank and pipeline linings due to their superior performance properties.

Epoxy resins offer excellent adhesion to various substrates making them ideal for coatings, adhesives, and composites. Also, depending on the formulation, epoxy resins can range from rigid to flexible, providing versatility for different applications. They withstand exposure to many chemicals and harsh environments, making them suitable for demanding applications.

Epoxy resins generally have good thermal stability, allowing them to perform well at elevated temperatures. Their excellent non-conductive properties make them valuable in electrical and electronic applications.

Most epoxy resins require curing agents to solidify and achieve their final properties. The type and amount of curing agent can influence the final characteristics of the cured epoxy.

Applications

PU Automotive Paint

The interiors and exteriors of trucks and cars feature many plastic parts. Depending on where the parts are located and what types of plastics are used, they may be protected with a variety of coating layers. Polyurethane (PU) systems provide a long-lasting, high-quality finish regardless of the number of layers.

Baking Alkyd Resin

Alkyd resins are manufactured from the condensation reaction between oil or polyols, acids, and alcohol. They are typically used as binders for coatings and printing inks. For lacquers in particular, nitrocellulose (NC) and CAB with excellent drying properties are used in combination with short oil alkyd resins that have low content of used oil.
