Castor Polyol

Description

Castor polyol presents a promising and versatile option for various applications, particularly where sustainability, performance, and specific properties are of concern.

Castor Polyols exhibits superior flexibility, abrasion, chemical and corrosion resistance. It also helps to provides flexible yet tough, hard and durable film. They are used in floor coating, pipeline coating, anticorrosive coating. At ambient temperature curable 2 K PU coating and widely used crosslinker are Polymeric MDI, Aromatic isocyanate adducts, and Aliphatic isocyanate adducts.

It can be used in potting and encapsulation materials for electronic components, offering good electrical insulation and thermal stability. The other use includes in adhesives, sealants, footwear components and cosmetics.

Compared to traditional polyols, castor polyol offers potential environmental benefits due to its bio-based origin and potentially lower life cycle impacts.

Applications

PU Automotive Paint

The interiors and exteriors of trucks and cars feature many plastic parts. Depending on where the parts are located and what types of plastics are used, they may be protected with a variety of coating layers. Polyurethane (PU) systems provide a long-lasting, high-quality finish regardless of the number of layers.

Baking Alkyd Resin

Alkyd resins are manufactured from the condensation reaction between oil or polyols, acids, and alcohol. They are typically used as binders for coatings and printing inks. For lacquers in particular, nitrocellulose (NC) and CAB with excellent drying properties are used in combination with short oil alkyd resins that have low content of used oil.
