PRINCIPAL PROPERTIES

MACROLIC-8039 60% is an Acrylamide base thermosetting resin for use in metal decorating exterior applications. An optimum balance of hardness, flexibility and chemical resistance can be achieved by the use of this resin. Macryl-8039 60% is recommended for the development of acrylic based vehicle refinish lacquers having following characteristics.

60 ± 2% in C-9/n-Butanol

USES

MACROLIC-8039 60% can be used in unmodified enamel formulations, as it is self-cross linking on baking. To achieve optimum properties of hardness and flexibility, a combination of Macryl-8039 60% with epoxy resin (epoxy eq. weight> 500) 5-30% is recommended. Higher level than this isnot recommended. For external applications recommended epoxy level is 5 – 7.5 %.

The recommended baking schedule is from 150-200°C Temperature for a predetermined rate of 15-20 minutes.
